In need of support

THANK you most sincerely for your article (Gazette, March 8) informing readers of the free lecture given on Saturday by dizzy, the diabetic organisation.

My father, like many people, had no idea he had this devastating disease until it was too late and suffered terribly as a consequence, although the NHS did everything they could for him.

A few years ago, whilst having a routine blood test, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have taken the necessary steps to combat the situation.

I would like to thank Jools Chaffer, the director of dizzy, and his wonderful team of volunteers for the most informative lecture and answers to my questions.

They are so friendly and genuine, I learnt some very important points.

The organisation needs our utmost support to run its local fund-raising shops to bring in the funds to help many more people to lead full and better lives.
