DOZENS of worshippers gathered over the weekend in Yapton to celebrate Palm Sunday (April 13).
Warm sunshine bathed the march of more than 40 members of St Mary’s Church, who paraded through the village centre on Sunday as part of their Walk of Witness.
The congregation was led by youngsters from the 1st Yapton and Ford Beavers.
A special service was then held at St Mary’s Church, led by the Rev Richard Hayes.
He said: “It was a really great day.
“It is always really good fun and I was pleased at the turn-out.”
More services are taking place from today, with a choral communion at St Mary’s Church, in Yapton, from 7.30pm.
A dawn communion will take place on Sunday at Climping beach, followed by communion services at St Mary the Virgin Church, in Church Lane, Climping, at 8am, and then another service at St Mary’s, Yapton, at 9.45am.
St Mary’s, Yapton will finish the Easter Sunday celebrations by hosting an evening of contemporary worship and communion service from 7.30pm. All are invited.
