The A27 has been blocked for the second time this morning after a three-vehicle collision.

The road is blocked by the Sussex Pad traffic lights after a collision involving three cars on the eastbound carriageway.

Traffic is building up due to the accident between Grinstead Lane and Coombes Road in Lancing.

At the time, severe delays of 23 minutes were expected on Warren Road eastbound between Crockhurst Hill and the accident, with an average speed five miles per hour.

Ten minute delays on the eastbound lane of Brighton Road were also expected with an average speed of ten miles per hour.

This comes after the A27 was blocked in Arundel following an earlier traffic accident.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “Police were called at 7.35am on Wednesday (1 March) following reports of a three vehicle collision on the A27 close to Grinstead Lane, Lancing. Officers and paramedics remain on scene and are working to clear the road. There are no further details at this time.”

All lanes have now been reopened.
