Rustington man assaulted by gang

A MAN in Rustington has been assaulted by a gang of four other men, police have said.

The 21-year-old victim was walking home along Station Road – close to the junction with Ruston Park – at 9pm on Thursday, September 20 when a car described as a dark coloured Peugeot 306 hatchback drew alongside him.

There was an argument between the victim and the driver, and the driver got out of the vehicle and tried to assault the him. Three more males then joined in, beating the victim and stealing his wallet.

The man suffered minor injuries to his head, hand and knee. The vehicle drove off in a westerly direction. The driver of the car was described as a white male, with short dark hair which was gelled, dark eyebrows and was wearing a round diamante-style earring in his left ear.

Detectives are urging all those with information about the crime to them, on 101 quoting serial 1729 of 20/09.
