Littlehampton slimmers hoping to pile on the pounds

SLIMMERS in Littlehampton are hoping to gain as many pounds as they can to help support a hospice.

The band of weight loss specialists from Slimming World will be converting the pounds they lose from hard work and physical exercise into much-needed cash for St Barnabas House hospice, in Worthing.

The group will be taking part in the slimming organisation’s national community weight loss challenge to help promote a more healthy lifestyle.

As part of the annual challenge, members are encouraged to invite friends and family, who could benefit from Slimming World’s guidance, in a bid to raise £1,500 for the hospice this year.

Sarah Hills, of Slimming World, said: “Last year, our members managed to raise a fantastic £1,500, which not only helped a very worthy cause, but improved our slimmers’ health and well-being at the same time.

“I’m sure this year will be just as successful and I know our members will do everything they can to help us achieve our aim of buying a new chair for the patients at St Barnabas.”

All the money raised will go towards purchasing the new, specially-designed reclining chair.

Sloane Vaughan, community fund-raising manager at the hospice, said she was “thrilled” to have the support of the group this year, and wished all those taking part the best of luck.
