POLICE have launched a man hunt after a teenage girl in Littlehampton was punched in the face and robbed.
The 16-year-old student was walking in an alleyway between Arundel Road and Cornwall Road at 9.30am on Thursday (September 19) when she was approached by two men.
They snatched her rucksack from her, took cash from inside and then punched her in the face before leaving towards Beaconsfield Road.
The victim suffered bruising to her eye.
The men were 16 to 18, Eastern European and tanned.
One was described as 5ft 11ins and of medium build with stubble and dark-brown short hair.
The second man was 5ft 7ins, thin and clean-shaven with jet black collar-length hair.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The thieves tried to take the victim’s mobile phone as well as her money but she very bravely fought them off.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around Arundel Road, Cornwall Road and Beaconsfield Road who could have seen the teenagers running away.
“Please come forward, no matter how small the piece of information you might have.”
