FOR most 74-year-olds, retirement is a time to kick-back and relax. But not for this fearless fitness fanatic. She will be completing 75 triathlons in 75 days.
Daphne Belt, of Toddington Lane, Toddington, has challenged herself to complete the impressive feat of endurance in the run-up to her 75th birthday, next year.
She will be tackling a 1,000m swim at the Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre, followed by a 10-mile bike ride along the coast and culminating in a two-mile run along the town’s seafront, every morning, starting from June 1.
In doing so, she will be fundraising for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice in Poling, and is hoping to raise more than £1,000.
