SEVEN voluntary community and charity groups in Arun have been awarded money from the Arun Well-being & Health Partnership small grants scheme.
The successful applicants included Arun Counselling Centre, providing older Arun residents with specialised counselling; Enable Me, providing training for volunteers to work with people with disabilities; Cancer United, promoting healthier lifestyles to avoid preventable diseases and Littlehampton Shopmobility, which produces walking mobility equipment for elderly or disabled shoppers.
The organisations all had projects which either promoted or supported one or more of the Arun Well-being priorities.
These include prevention of ill health, information, improving mental wellbeing, tackling health inequalities, providing services for older people to enable better quality of life, and working with families, young people and children on a range of lifestyle issues.
Applications for Arun Wellbeing & Health Partnership small grants are now closed for this year but funding may be available in the next financial year.
