Pedestrian killed in car crash

A teenage girl has been killed and three other pedestrians injured in a serious collision with a car in Oxfordshire, police have said.

The crash happened just after 8am on Monday in Curbridge Road, Witney, Thames Valley Police said.

The 18-year-old driver of the Kia has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Those hit, a man and three 14-year-old girls, were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where one of the teenagers was pronounced dead.

A police spokeswoman said the road was likely to be shut in both directions for some time as inquiries continued.
