HEALTH visitors are needed to support families across Sussex.
NHS South of England is looking to recruit almost 100 extra health visitors in the next two years.
Antonia Hopkins, programme manager for action on health visiting for the South East Coast Strategic Health Authority, said: “We are currently seeking qualified nurses and midwives as well as student nurses who are about to complete their training who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of children, and who may be looking for a new career opportunity.
“This is an exciting time to join the health-visiting profession and those joining will make a real difference to improving the outcomes for local children and families.”
Health visitors monitor well-being, behaviour, communication skills and learning within families, and work closely with parents of children under five to put them in touch with a wide variety of community and NHS services such as Children’s Centres, GP’s, breast-feeding support groups, and speech and language therapists.
