Police appealed for information the following day to help catch the man, described as a black with dreadlock hair tied in a pony tail.

The robber verbally threatened a 20-year-old woman and her boyfriend’s six-year-old son when he entered the house.

The pair were unhurt but shaken.

The offender then drove what is thought to be a silver Volkswagen Caddy towards the A27 between Tangmere and Fontwell.

He was wearing a cluster of bling earrings and a high-visibility vest, which it is believed he discarded.
