Dog owners walking on Highdown Hill are leaving their pets’ waste under a sign asking them to carry it to the bins.

The sign, located near Highdown Gardens states “Please do not leave dog poo bags here to spoil Highdown Hill for other users. There are dedicated bins at the car park.”

The sign states not to leave waste bags on the hill.

Jackie Ghent, 51, of The Quadrant in Goring, found the bags while walking her two dogs at the weekend.

She said: “I carry my bags after my dogs have done their waste, so I don’t know what was going on, I don’t know if it was people misreading the sign.

“There should be a bin if it is confusing to people. I know the bags have since been removed, but it will probably be like that again this weekend. I just want to make people aware that the sign is there so bags stop getting left.”
