West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has been called to assist a casualty on the second floor of some scaffolding in Littlehampton, a spokesman has confirmed.

WSFRS said they were called out to the address in St Winefrides Road, Littlehampton, this morning (March 8).

A spokesman said they are currently in assistance with South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

The spokesman said: “We are dealing with a casualty on the second floor of some scaffolding.

“The situation is currently ongoing and we do not have any more information at this time.”

SECAmb have confirmed they were called to the scene shortly before 9am.

A spokesman said: “We responded to calls that a man required medical assistance on scaffolding at a buidling site in St Winefrides Road.

“We sent one ambulance and three paramedic cars as well as our hazardous response team which was called to assist the fire service as the casualty was at a height.

“On arrival, the patient was on ground level receiving assistance.

“He was taken by ambulance to Worthing Hospital for further treatment.”

St Winefrides Road was closed in both directions but has now been reopened, according to WSFRS.
