Have your say

There are lots of volunteering opportunities across the area.

Leonard Cheshire Disability provides services in support of disabled people in the widest context: care at home; supported living; domiciliary support; day services; rehabilitation and respite care. One of the residents at their home in Rustington, St Bridget’s, would like to go out to the shops, the sea and to social events, but to achieve this they need some help. Could you do this? An interest in rugby and most genres of popular music would be welcome. You will also need a good sense of humour, clear communication, be able to keep your composure and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Volunteers for their charity shop in Rustington are also required.

Launch Pad is a free breakfast club that runs before school every day during term-time. More volunteers are needed to assist the team in giving up to 40 children a healthy and nutritious start to the day. Tasks would include: preparing fruit, setting the tables, helping the children to make informed choices, joining in with craft activities, clearing away and encouraging children to brush their teeth. Help is required from 7.30am until 9am, term-time only.

Littlehampton and District Lions Club aims to help people of all ages who are less fortunate than themselves through a wide variety of fundraising events and some hands on projects. They are looking for new members who could assist at local fundraising events throughout the year. No experience is required you just need to have a caring nature and a good sense of humour. Club meetings take place at the Worthing Rugby Club on the first Tuesday of each month.

Scope exists to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. Shop workers are required to carry out various duties. No experience is needed as full training will be given. Various days and hours are available to suit you.
