Have your say

Your computer is on its last legs; the time has come to start the search for a replacement. But where to begin?

With advances in the world of computer technology, there is a positive plethora of options out there, but every search opens with that all important question – laptop or desktop?

A good place to start when thinking about buying a new computer is by considering your lifestyle.

You may think that the most convenient choice would be a laptop, then you always have the option to take it out of the house should you desire.

The issue with this is, if the laptop is simply going to act as a desktop with the rare need for portability, you can get significantly more for your money by choosing the latter.

Another advantage of choosing a desktop if you work from home on a regular basis, is the ergonomic side.

Desktops are designed to allow the user to look at the screen at eye level enabling proper positioning of back, neck and arms.

Laptops have come a long way and now boast excellent battery life, as well as wireless cards which allow you to access the internet on the move.

There are many things to consider when making this expensive decision.
