Have your say

If you own an Apple device you will know that Facetime is a great way of chatting via your phone or tablet.

However, it does have its limitations, for example, its inability to make a video call with more than one person at a time – a restrictive feature for anyone in need of a group chat.

These restrictions may well have you researching the technology market for an alternative.

There are a variety of options available, one great example if you are looking to make a call from your tablet or laptop is Google Hangout; a useful service offered by Google Plus which allows video calls between up to ten people at one time.

Simply create a Google account, sign in, and then click ‘create new hangout,’ at this point you can select the option to begin a video call.

Alternatively, if you prefer to use your phone for video calls, try downloading Oovoo, a free application from the App Store that allows you to video call with up to twelve friends, as well as send texts, pictures and video messages.

With so many options, you can benefit from great opportunities to stay in touch with friends and co-workers, even at long-distances.
