Nude teen’s ‘trip’ leads to police chase in Littlehampton

A TEENAGER required medical treatment after taking deadly nightshade, which led to him riding naked on a stolen bike through Littlhehampton, on Saturday (April 15).

The 18-year-old, from Bournemouth, had run from Arundel to Littlehampton after eating the caps from the poisonous plants – which can cause a hallucinogenic effect – before stealing the bike from Worthing Road.

The drugged up teen then rode through the town and was then seen to run in and out of traffic.

Sergeant Roy Hodder, from Littlehampton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Several calls were made to the police about this man and officers quickly detained him before taking him to hospital for medical treatment.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who phoned police as this enabled us to find the man quickly and ensure that no further harm came to either the man or anyone else.”

The man was discharged from Worthing Hospital, the following day.
