Man with links to Littlehampton is wanted for recall to prison

POLICE are seeking 27-year-old Ben Wood, who is wanted for recall to prison for breaching the conditions of his release licence.

He had been released part of the way through a sentence for robbery.

Wood was last seen when he left the address at which he had been staying in central Brighton on May 3. He is known to frequent the Brighton and Littlehampton areas.

He is white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, with cropped-blond thinning hair, a pierced left ear and some distinctive tattoos.

On the left side of his neck is a Chinese character for “Power”. On the right side of his neck is another Chinese character.

He has a dragon on his left arm and a tribal band on his right arm. He also has the words “In loving memory of Aunty Wendy RIP” on his right arm.

He had been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment in 2010 for a series of robberies.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Wood does not pose any specific threat to the general public, but anyone who knows where he may be is urged to contact Sussex Police via 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1544 of 3/5. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The picture of Wood, provided by Sussex Police, was not of good enough quality to be used on the website.
