TIRELESS commitment and dedication has earned one Rustington resident top gongs in the village’s annual parishioners’ award.

Kathleen Tidbury has been praised by Rustington Parish Council for all she has done to help brighten the village.

A spokeswoman for the parish council said the award was ‘in recognition of her tireless commitment and outstanding service to the village of Rustington and its community’.

Her success was announced during the council’s Annual Meeting last week.

The award is given every year in recognition of outstanding public service to the community.

It is not just for those living in the village but all those outside of it that have made a real difference to Rustington, too.

Mrs Tidbury is a leading figure on the Rustington In Bloom committee, which helped to lead the village to international acclaim when it won the prestigious gold award in the Entente Florale Europe competition in 2012.

Mrs Tidbury received £50 along with a commemorative scroll and trophy to keep as a memento.
