Students at The Angmering School celebrate their school becoming a gold Youth Sports Trust partner

THESE students were jumping for joy as their school was given the golden seal of approval for its commitment to sporting success.

The Angmering School has been presented with its gold status as a Youth Sports Trust partner school this month.

The award recognises the work of teachers and staff to keep PE standards and attainment at a consistently high level.

Headteacher David Brixey, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to become a Youth Sport Trust partner school which recognises our commitment to delivering the best possible experiences for young people through PE and school sport.

“There are a whole range of educational, health and wellbeing benefits from delivering high quality PE and school sport and we see on a regular basis that when sport is delivered well it can transform the lives of a whole range of pupils.”

As a partner Angmering will receive additional training and development and can become involved in innovative sporting initiatives.

Angmering’s head of PE Ed Whiffin said: “It means we can lead the way with exciting new sporting schemes. It’s a great achievement for us.”

Nationally, only 250 schools have achieved the gold partner status.
