Four admit hare coursing on Angmering Park Downs

FOUR men caught hare coursing on the Downs between Angmering and Arundel have been fined by magistrates.

All four pleaded guilty at Worthing Magistrates' Court to hunting wild mammals with dogs at Angmering Park, in February.

Thomas Joseph Connors, 31, from Wallington, Surrey, Edward Mark Connors, 40, from Horley, Surrey, James O'Brien, 38, from Westerham, Kent and James Robb, 24, from Stanmore, Middlesex, were each fined 200 and ordered to pay costs of 250.

Edward Connors, Thomas Connors and James Robb were also given a forfeiture order for the dogs.

PC Peter Child, Farmwatch co-ordinator for Sussex Police's West Downs division, said: "Hare coursing is illegal and it will be robustly dealt with whenever it comes to our attention."
