FIREFIGHTERS will be hosting a community information day for a Littlehampton street which, over the past two years, has been blighted by blazes.
The event is taking place on Thursday (August 14) and is a result of the level of call-outs received by the fire service to South Terrace.
The information day is being held on The Green between 3.30pm and 8.30pm, is an opportunity for residents and business owners to come and talk to crews about fire safety, as well as pick up useful advice and information from a range of other local partner agencies.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service’s community information bus will be on site throughout the afternoon with firefighters and specialist advisors on hand to give simple and practical tips on how to stay fire safe in their homes and businesses, including advice on the importance of working smoke alarms and how to reduce the risk of arson.
In the last two years (between July, 2012, and May of this year)the fire service has attended a total of 47 999 calls to South Terrace for a whole range of incidents including fires in both domestic and business premises.
