CASH prizes for those bidding to become Littlehampton Carnival queen have increased, thanks to a new donation.

Two carnival princesses, runners-up in the carnival queen competition, will now receive a £100 cash prize each, courtesy of Cuff Miller and Apollo Taxis.

They will also win a designer dress, plus day wear, as do all those who are picked to be carnival queen, junior queen and flower girls respectively.

This week, Chantelle Phillips, from Wick, entered the contest to become this year’s junior queen.

The 12-year-old will be among many hoping to be selected to become carnival royalty for the event, which takes place this year on July 12.

A range of prizes will be given to those who are successfully picked to have a place in this year’s events.

Those who are successful will represent the Littlehampton Carnival for a year at a range of events.

This year is the 40th carnival and promises to be one of the biggest yet.

The deadline to enter the carnival competition is Wednesday, February 19, and the Gazette each week features one of the new entrants.

To enter, complete the coupon, send it to the address provided and email photos to letters@littlehamptongazette.co.uk
