I was very interested to read, in last week’s edition, of a planning application that has been put forward by Hanbury Properties Ltd for proposed housing at Manor Nurseries, Angmering (Gazette, May 15).

The point being that, not only the staff, but also the current owners of the nursery are seemingly bemused !

First, the property has not been sold and secondly, the staff are not aware that they will be made redundant or are likely to be in the foreseeable future. Is this the worst case of mischief making in the whole planning debacle ?

Is it an attempt to destroy not only a village treasure but at the same time to try to force Manor Nursery into submission ?

They are one of the best of the few proper nurseries left in the area.

It is a known fact that anyone can put forward a planning application for anything but, in this case, are unseen forces at work to ruin rather than maintain the wonderful amenities we have?

Angela Shepherd,

The Avenals

Angmering
