HUNDREDS queued for up to 30 minutes for the chance to meet a television celebrity in Shoreham.

Crowds filled the Holmbush Centre, in Upper Shoreham Road, on Saturday to meet reality TV star Amy Childs.

The 21-year-old, who gained fame on the ITV show The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) and Celebrity Big Brother, was at the centre to launch her new range of beauty products.

Eager fans bought the products at the Tesco Express store before waiting to get them signed by Amy.

One emotional fan broke down in tears, while countless others reacted excitedly to meeting the TV star.

Speaking to the Herald, fans of Amy Childs spoke of their enthusiasm about meeting the model, turned television presenter.

Lauren Burelli, 17, from Green Acres, Shoreham, said: “It was really good to meet her.

“I’ve loved her ever since TOWIE.

“She was really funny and down to earth on the programme and in person she was exactly the same.”

Mother Justine Gill and her son Oliver came from Hartfield, East Sussex, for a shopping trip and noticed the queues when they arrived.

Justine, 37, said: “She was very nice. A really pretty, stunning lady. I’ve liked her since TOWIE, so it was nice to meet her.”

Over the course of the day, hundreds queued for the chance to meet Amy.

Excited crowds gathered, with people jostling to have their photo taken with Amy, or to have her acknowledge them.

Some queued as long as 30 minutes for the chance to meet her.
