The restored Amsterdam Inn will hold a VIP evening tonight, after reopening on Wednesday, following a £600,000 investment from Stonegate Pub Company.

At the re-launch event at 5pm tonight (Friday, December 9) representatives from Shoreham Lifeguards, Port, Airport, Sailing Committee, members of St Nicholas Church Council and Ann Bridges, chairperson of Adur District Council, will visit the pub.

The Upper Shoreham Road pub will be open to the public from 7pm.

Debbie Clark, the manager of pub who has twenty years experience running pubs was ‘delighted’ with the reception from the public so far.

“We’ve had so many positive comments, my favourite being the ‘Rise of the Amsterdam again!” she said.

“There’s been intrigue as works have developed, and everyone is really impressed.

“It’s fantastic that Stonegate were prepared to step forward and plough investment into such a historic building.

“We’ve already created twenty new jobs but judging by the reaction so far, and the Christmas bookings, it won’t be long before we’re upsizing our team again!”
