Help needed across Arun to keep elderly active

Littlehampton's Tamarisk Centre
Littlehampton's Tamarisk Centre

Littlehampton’s popular Tamarisk Centre needs help to build on its busy programme of activities for older people.

The centre, in Beach Road, is open weekday mornings and afternoons and anyone who is able to lead a class or activity would be very welcome to join the team.

A receptionist is also needed by the Tamarisk to deal with queries by members, volunteers and the public, answering the phone, taking messages and putting calls through to staff members, and there are also volunteering opportunities supporting the kitchen/café staff.

For more information on these and other volunteer vacancies, contact Derek Moore, Arun Volunteer Centre co-ordinator, telephone 01903 731223, e-mail or call in at the centre on the ground floor, Bradbury Centre, 1-5 St Martin’s Lane, Littlehampton, from 9am-4pm on Mondays and Thursdays and 9.30am-4.30pm on Wednesdays.

The Villages (Yapton) Children and Family Centre has a range of volunteer vacancies, including reception assistant, administration assistant, befriending and buddying assistant, promotional assistant, family forum assistant and toy library assistant.

The Teenage Cancer Trust is appealing for volunteers to hold bucket collections at Argos stores over the weekend of January 26/7. Anyone who can help will be sent promotional materials for the charity and their bucket will be waiting at their Argos store.
