Police were called last night after a cafe owner disturbed a man attempting to enter her shop.

Helen Bower, who owns Grounds coffee shop in High Street, in Arundel, caught the man about 9pm last night.

The man ran off when she made her presence known, she said. Nothing was taken and no damage done as the man had not yet broken in when she found him, Helen added.

The cafe is open as usual today.

Police say the man have been using a screwdriver, and fled in a white Shogun vehicle.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen someone acting suspiciously is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1456 of 15/03.
