Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head last night (Monday, March 7).

The teenager was walking in Priory Road, Hastings, close to the speed camera, at about 10pm, when he was approached from behind by a man who pointed a firearm - believed to be a BB gun - at his head.

The man then fired the weapon, causing a pellet to embed in the boy’s forehead.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a minor skull fracture.

He was discharged this morning (Tuesday, March 8).

The suspect is described as a man being more than 5’6” tall, of medium build, and was wearing a black hooded top at the time of the shooting.
