A CAR, which is believed to have hit a tree and flipped on to its side, is blocking a major road into Littlehampton.
The silver hatchback is currently obstructing the southbound route of the A284 Lyminster Road, close to the Crossbush intersection.
Three fire crews, including the heavy rescue tender from Worthing, are in attendance, along with paramedics, with the emergency call initially being reported at 3.11pm today (Monday, July 20).
The car is understood to have hit a tree, a fire service spokeswoman said. It is the only vehicle involved in the incident.
The male driver had been freed before fire crews arrived at the scene.
However, he is being treated by paramedics at the scene. There is no word as to the severity of the man’s injuries.
Two fire crews from Littlehampton, along with the rescue tender, are in the process of making the scene safe.
The incident will be handed over to Sussex Police, the fire service spokeswoman added.
