Littlehampton Bonfire Society has come up trumps again, raising thousands for our local causes.

Charities and community projects have received £9,572 from the society’s street collections at the bonfire and other fund raising events.

Sussex Squids, a swimming club for the disabled, and Wick Dynamos Junior Football Club each received £2,000.

Enable Me, a charity which delivers services for disabled people by disabled people, and the West Downs Neighbourhood Watch Task Force each received £1,000.

The society is now looking for volunteers to raise more funds this year.

Tyndall Jones, one of the society’s top fundraisers, said volunteers had to be ‘enthusiastic and seen to be having fun’. “Just shake that box!”, he said.

Charities and community projects are now invited to apply to become beneficiaries of the street collection at this year’s Traditional Bonfire Celebrations on Saturday, October 28. Email littlehamptonbonfiresociety@hotmail.co.uk before June 1.
