The teams and individuals who collected the most money at the Littlehampton Bonfire Society’s fireworks celebrations were given prizes for their efforts.

Cups and cheques were presented to the winning teams of the Littlehampton Bonfire Society’s Collection Challenge by Allen Alderton, chairman of the society, on Saturday at The Scout Hall in Linden Road, Littlehampton.

The Littlehampton Coastguard Rescue team, including the RNLI, took the top prize by raising £1190.

Their £100 prize cheque went to the charity of their choice, the Littlehampton RNLI.

Second place and a £50 cheque went to the Littlehampton scout group which raised £982.

In third place was the Edwin James Choir which raised £803.00. Its chosen charity for its £25 prize was St Barnabas House hospice.

John Taylor won the individual collector’s cup with a sum of £234, pipping his wife Sylvia, who won the prize last year, to the post.
