ARSONISTS torched a car and damaged two garages during an attack in Rustington over the weekend.
Three fire crews, one from East Preston and two from Littlehampton, were called to the blaze, in Southcourt Close, on Saturday morning (December 6).
Witnesses to the fire described seeing large flames rising about 10ft into the air.
Firefighters wearing breathing masks used three water hoses, a dry powder extinguisher and a small set of tools to quell the inferno, which sparked at 7am.
The fire completely destroyed the car, with the heat from the blaze scorching two garages, which suffered relatively minor damage.
Officers were at the scene until 8.10am with investigators concluding the fire was deliberate.
Witnesses to the attack, or those who may have any information about the incident, should call police on 101.
