PROM royalty from The Angmering School will feature in a special documentary on ITV this evening (Thursday, August 28).
Hundreds of Year-11 students from the Station Road school took part in its annual prom night last month – which this year was recorded by television film crews.
The teenagers’ exploits, along with others from across the nation, have all been documented in the ITV programme Prom Crazy: Frocks and Ferraris – which will air at 9pm.
The hour-long documen-tary aims to shine a light on the growing popularity over the years of the American-style proms, which have become an essential rite of passage for many of the nation’s 15 and 16-year-olds as they complete their final year at school.
Angmering students arrived in everything from sports cars and buses to speedboats and taxis to mark their special night.
The programme will be following a set of teenagers as they fret over their dates, drain their parents’ pockets and prepare and pamper themselves ahead of the big night and as the evening unfolds.
It also shows the industry which caters and benefits from the teens’ desire to become the most glamorous on the dance floor.
