EAST PRESTON school children now have an area to sit and reflect, after a brand new quiet area was unveiled last week.
The Nest is a quiet seating area, complete with pergola and benches, at East Preston Infant School, which has been transformed from a muddy, grassed area.

Marian Francis, year two teacher and school grounds co-ordinator, said:" It will now provide an attractive space for the children to sit in and talk to their friends if they do not wish to run around and be active at playtime.

"We have kept the trees and borders, so as to incorporate the natural feel of the area, while still shielding from the elements"

She added that it was also be used by parents, when they were waiting to collect their children.

The opening was the culmination of two months work, planning and fundraising, by the school and the Friends of East Preston Infant School.

It was opened by the two youngest students, Elliot Pote and Max Snelling, both 4, and the two oldest, Matthew Davies and Gemma Milton, who are seven.
