A PENSIONER suffered broken ribs when he was hit by a car in Lyminster.

The 69-year-old, from Littlehampton, was crossing Lyminster Road at about 11am on Sunday (December 27).

A Sussex police spokesman said it appeared that the man had stepped between queuing traffic, and into the path of a silver Renault Clio, driven by a 58-year-old Yorkshire woman.

He was taken to St Richard's Hospital, and yesterday (Monday) his condition was described as stable.

Anyone with information should call 0845 60 70 999, and quote serial 452 of 27/12.
