LIVE music on piano and ukulele, experimental rock in quadraphonic sound, and short film, are on the bill at this month's Eclectric Ballroom.
Singer-songwriter Maria Henderson headlines, backing herself on piano. Maria is a student at Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where tutors include stadium rocker Bruce Dickinson, Brand New Heavies vocalist Carleen Anderson and Britpop star Jon Stewart, lead guitarist with Sleeper.

Maria has previously supported Jools Holland, The Darkness, Charlotte Church and Heather Small.

Blues guitar maestro Adam Franklin will also play. In one of the twists for which Eclectric Ballroom is gaining a great reputation, he will put down his guitar and will be performing on his ukulele for the first time in public.

Stef Sykes is the founder of Worthing Film Club, owner of beach café Coast, and chairman of Worthing Arts Council. He will be introducing a short film chosen specially for Eclectric Ballroom's audience.

And to round the evening off, the sound engineer behind local band Soundweaver's debut album will be bringing an album by an experimental psychedelic rock band to life.

Mike Baker is going to introduce and play an excerpt from the experimental Flaming Lips Album Zaireeka, which can only be heard when played on four CD players simultaneously.

The night is hosted by singer-songwriter Ben Salter. Ben has previously performed at venues like Brighton's Joogleberry Playhouse and Fringe Bar, and Farringdon venue The Betsey Trotwood.

Eclectric Ballroom takes place in the Cellar Bar, Beechwood Hall, Wykeham Road, Worthing from 8pm on May 16. Admission is £2.
