SHAKESPEARE'S Globe is back on the road this summer with its hugely successful touring production of Romeo and Juliet.
The good news is the extensive tour of the UK and Europe includes two dates at Parham House, near Storrington.

A small troupe will perform Shakespeare's tragic tale of star-crossed lovers in the stunning grounds of Parham House on July 29 and 30.

The troupe of actors will entertain outdoor crowds with their stripped-down version of Shakespeare's classic love story, true to the old principles of touring theatre.

The production will be re-cast and re-imagined by director Elizabeth Freestone, who has recently been director on attachment at the National Theatre Studio. Romeo and Juliet will once again include Anthony Lamble's innovative campervan design.

As well as touring Europe, Romeo and Juliet will be visiting exciting new UK venues in 2008, including St Augustine's Abbey in Canterbury, Wilton House as part of the Salisbury International festival, St Andrews Castle, Scotland, and Heaton Park, Manchester.

Dominic Dromgoole, artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe, said: "The Globe was born out of a touring company culture, and that culture remained vital to it while it flourished.

"We are delighted to be exploring again the tradition of taking Shakespeare into non-theatrical spaces."

Shows at Parham House are at 7pm and tickets are £15 (£10 concessions) from 0207 401 9919 or click here
