A BROADBRIDGE Heath man who couldn't afford a gravestone for his mother is instead marking her memory with a charity skydive.

Dean Ridgley's mum, Teri McCrae, died of a heart attack earlier this year at the age of 50.

Now Dean, 24, of Wickhurst Lane, is raising money for the British Heart Foundation - the charity his mother supported - by doing a sponsored 12,000ft skydive on October 18.

"I feel I haven't mourned her properly, and I just think this might help with it," said Dean.

"I haven't any money to pay for a tombstone, and I haven't done anything for my mum since she passed away so I thought I could do this," he added.

He has so far raised nearly £500.

Donations towards the charity skydive can be made by visiting the website www.justgiving.com and searching under name for 'Nicola Slogrove', 'Terry Fay', or 'Dean Ridgley'.
