A MOTHER and daughter from Horsham raised almost £1,500 for Leukaemia Research when they took part in a charity bike ride.
Paula and Daisy Marks competed in the London Bikeathon last month to generate the money.
They signed up after Nick, Paula's husband and father to Daisy, was diagnosed with the illness last year.
Paula, 40, who lives just off Bartholomew Road, said: "It was fantastic with a great atmosphere.
"The weather was great, not too hot, not too cold.
"I found the bike ride a bit emotional as we lost a friend, John, to leukaemia on Friday July 11.
"We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and sponsored us."
Paula completed the 26 miles course in two hours, while Daisy also clocked up four miles in the children's event.
