ENGLAND cricket star Alastair Cook's appearance at Horsham Waterstones on Saturday brought excitement to queues of fans, but for one fan in particular it was extra special.

Collyers student Katie Allan, 17, claims to be the young Essex batsman's biggest fan and has travelled to matches across the country to meet her sporting idol.

Katie, from North Parade, has raised money for the Young Lord Taveners charity which Cook is president of, and always presents him with a special gift when she sees him.
