Published Date: 11 April 2008
In the Harty column of March 28, we commented upon the situation surrounding Leeds United going into administration.

We did not intend to suggest that the club, or its chairman Mr Ken Bates, sought to deceive the Football League or to flout the Football League's rules by entering the club into administration.

We accept that the club's administration was carried out legitimately under the supervision and advice of the club's administrators, KPMG.

We apologise to Mr Bates for any misunderstanding or embarrassment our article may have caused.
