AFTER the article in the Gazette about the opening of the ARK (November 6), I would like to thank the readers who have been so generous with donations of clothing, food and furniture.
As with every charity, we rely so much on donations in order to provide our services.
By donating these items, they have had a direct and positive effect on the lives of the homeless in our community.
I have been able to provide food parcels,
clean and warm clothes and socks to our clients soon after they come through the door, rather than having to tell them I have nothing for them.
As Christmas approaches and the weather gets colder, I ask the community to please keep these people in their minds.
While they are possibly surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, these vulnerable people will still be lonely and out in the cold.
Please help us this Christmas so that we can get homeless people off the streets and open the door to a better life.
Many thanks yet again.

Manager of The ARK
