We do care about the elderly and our homes

WHAT nonsense! McCarthy and Stone (Gazette letters, April 10) refuses to recognise that another block of apartments in the same street is a gross and unwelcome development in the centre of the town.
How absurd to suggest that the "good people" of Littlehampton do not care for their elderly; our support organisations such as the WRVS, Shopmobility and Arun Co-ordinated Community Transport, for example, show that we do care, but there is considerable concern that official services, including transport and health, may be inadequate.

And the "family homes" to be demolished will not be back onto the market; they are gone for ever.

Dr Michael Nott, Church Street, Littlehampton
