MAY I, on the behalf of the Littlehampton in Bloom committee, sincerely thank all the people involved in this year's competition.
There has been an enormous effort put in by volunteers, and local traders, too numerous to mention individually.
In addition to the floral displays there are wildlife habitats, especially the sand dunes, the growing of ornamental vegetables, conne
ction with the town link with Chennèvieres in France, and the splendid art exhibition by local children, Blooming Lovely, in the museum.
Last, but by no means least, individual gardens and window displays.
This, hopefully, is just the beginning and there will be an ongoing improvement year by year.
All these things enhance the reputation of Littlehampton as a great place to visit.
With the current economic downturn, I believe that this beautiful resort, with its Blue Flag, safe, shallow water and its fantastic facilities, will come to be appreciated by many more people, particularly families.
