LAST week the grass verge cutters were in Angmering, and I noticed that there was one verge that had a small group of poppies situated between two trees, so that there was not a lot of room to manoeuvre.
The speed at which the cutters go with their heavy machines could easily have mowed them down, but no, they went round them.
So a word of thanks should go to them for their good gesture.
