BRAVING the force eight wind for a bracing walk last week, I visited the new Boathouse Cafe, at Littlehampton Marina.
I don't know who the architect was but he or she could certainly give Thomas Heatherington and Asif Khan a run for their money when it comes to designing a really nice café building with panoramic views across both the river and the open countryside.
I think next time I go I will pick a fine day and try out the sheltered outside area.
I wouldn't call the Boathouse groundbreaking or iconic; rather more sort of sensible, comfortable and easy on the eye.
Oh, yes, and the food is really nice, too; sensible, tasty and easy on the wallet.
Anyway, must dash.
I want to Google prices for a round-trip holiday to the No Sato Resort in Shika, Japan.
It has the longest bench in the world – so far.
It is 460m long – Wow! Imagine that!
Can't wait to see it and spend loads of yen in their local shops.
Any other sad bench anoraks out there interested in maybe getting a coach party together?
