I ATTENDED the Remem-brance ceremony at Littlehampton war memorial on November 9 and, in contrast to John Raywood (Gazette letters, November 13), found it to be a well-organised and quite moving event.
It was particularly pleasing to see the number of young people attending in their various organisations — Scouts, Guides, etc. I would particularly commend the four young people who stood, one at each corner of the memorial, for 10 minutes, before an
d during the ceremony.
On a cold morning they stood motionless and performed their duties admirably.
I am quite sure I heard the words "They will not grow old..." said at the start of the ceremony, but may be mistaken in this.
