PRIMARY schools in Littlehampton and Angmering recently took part in two stoolball festivals.
Dating back to the Domesday book, stoolball is a traditional Sussex sport, and a forerunner to cricket. It has recently received national sporting recognition by Sport England, and is still played in many villages.

It was a magnificent sight at Th
e Angmering School to see more than 50 pupils from three primary schools take part in maintaining a little bit of Sussex history.

Thanks should be given to Sandy Fell and Pete Gywnn for organising the events, and a special thanks to the primary school teachers and volunteers, for not only promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle, but for keeping a part of Sussex culture alive.
