Getting the café facts straight

I WOULD like to point out that Debbie Trust, the new manager of the Boathouse Café, obviously has not done her homework. If she had done, she would have known that my parents David and Barbara Boarer owned the previous café, known as Marina Café, for 30 years until last year when the lease expired.
When they first took over, after many previous failed tenants, the café was open as early as 5am until 7pm. In those days there were 40 charter boats going to sea each day.

As the times changed, and then with the new owner of the marina getting rid of some of those boats, business dwindled slightly and my family relied more on pleasure boats and families.

They used local businesses for produce and prided themselves on the good home cooking which served thousands over the years. Many customers became good friends and still are.

As their daughter, I would like to say that a cabin selling teas and coffee as Debbie mentioned is not how it was. My family retired 10 years early after working long hours.

Will you do the same? It remains to be seen.
